Pregnancy Resource Center opens The Pregnancy Resource Center (a second location of Sav-A-Life of Covington County) opened on Mol- day in Florala, servicing Alabama and Florida resi- dents. This is an interde- nominational non-profit Christian ministry com- mitted to helping women and men through the crisis of an unexpected pregnan- cy and is designed to help women make informed de- cisions they can live with. The center is located at 22975 West 7th Street in the old Florala City Middle School and will be open every Monday from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. Services offered are con- fidential and free of charge including pregnancy test- ing, pregnancy options, prenatal classes (Earn While You Learn), absti- nence education, parent- ing education, abortion re- covery, referrals: medical care, community services, adoption services, church- es and legal aide. The "Earn While You Learn" is a program which helps answer many ques- CENTER'S MAIN ENTRANCE tions and participants learn to be the best par- ents they can be. With each lesson completed during this program, "Mommy Money" is earned for baby sup- plies and other mate- rials. According to Dave Tidwell, project chairman, the group assisting West- side consists of around 100 workers ranging in ages from 11-80 years old and are from six different states. After that group completes their portion of the build, other groups from Georgia and Tennessee will come and do their part. The Westside project is the group's first job of 2012. Fundraisers are being planned to help with the building costs. Anyone wishing to make a dona- tion to the building fund can mail donations to P.O.
