"One of the council mem- bers complained at the June 9 meeting that the Florala Po- lice Department was not per- forming satisfactorily. I brought out the fact that through the combined effort of the Flo- raid Police Department and Covington County Sheriff's De- partment, more than two dozen arrests have been made in con- nection with the car theft ring and better than a quarter mil- lion dollars in equipment re- covered in recent weeks. It Calling All Ho,.emaker, By . 'ullir.. There are no set rules in the placing of wall pictures, except they should be related to exist- ing architectural features and furniture. Every room and each wall presents an individual pro- blem, but there are a few gen- eral rules that will apply to everyone's deco?ating needs. These are as follows: 1. The size and shape of pic- tures should govern their hang- ing. If a picture is large or im- portant it may be a center of in- terest and should be placed on an important axis of the room s'~ch as over a mantel or an important piece of furniture. 2. Where several pictures of equal size, impor- tance and interest are to be hung, they should form a geometrical grouping and should be hung in either a straight horizonal line, straight vertical line, a square, rectangle, triangle, circle or oval form de- pending on their number, size, and area in which they are to be hung. 3. Pictures should not be used unless a space ap- pears empty without them. 4. A grouping of pictures should usually not be wider than a piece of furniture beneath them. 5. The center of an important or dominant pic- ture should be hung slightly above eye level. 6. A grouping of pictures may be composed of those in a variety of mediums provided they have a spirit and quality that relates them to each other. 7. The spacing of pictures is important in main- taining unity in a grouping. Four prints if hung to far apart, will appear as four separate units rather than one over all mass. 8. Avoid a diagonal arrangement except on a stairway. 9. An assortment of prints or drawings may be unified by using matching frames and mats. 10. Where a collection of many pictures of various sizes and mediums are to be hung, they should be placed close together to cover the wall area as much as possible to obtain greater unity. After an evening of~ hunching, rubbing, and squirming, she is ready for a ride down lovers' lane with some boy. When you find she is pregnant, you can write a letter to the school that taught her to dance and express your thanks. Then you can go and look in the mirror and thank the person who was really to blame, and that is YOU. That's right. You can get a lump in your throat and turn red in the face; but if you are permitting the devil's crowd over at the local school to teach your children how to sin, then it's nobody's fault but your own. Let me say this while I am on the subject. If you are pretending to bB a christian and are letting your children take part in this device of Satan, then either get your childrenout of the devil's dancing room or take your sign down. Now, I know some of you feeble.minded, weak.kneed, jelly. bellied professers are going to say, '~VBII, I can't stop the school board from teaching dancing." No, maybe you can't; and the chances are that you haven't tried either. There is one thing you can do, though; and that is to cllp out the form below and send it to the school by your sons and daughters. I will grant you that they will be excused from the dancing class. The school board will honor one's religious beliefs. If you want your children to be excused, then say so. Don't blame the school board for what your child is doing. It's your decision. Cllp out the form below and send it to the school. Quit talking and do something. Remember, the Bible says to train up a child In the way he should go. How do you want your child to go7 Do you want him (or her) to go to the devil's dance floor, shaking, rattlin% and rolling'? If your request is not honored by the school, write and let me know the details. I would be glad to be of assistance. i , food news & cues from the Quaker Test Kitchens Blue Ribbon Pie band. you.
