He was born January 28, 1932 in Covington County, AL, toAr- rie Osbun Chambers and Willie Gladys Justice Chambers. Lewie worked 23 years for Interna- tional Paper Company. After retiring he and his wife, Nell, owned and op- erated Mike's General Store in Lock- hart. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing and camping. Lewie and his family have been life long members of Damascus Baptist Church and his faith in Jesus Christ sustained him as he bravely fought many health issues. He fought the good fight. He finished the race. He kept the faith. He was preceded in death by son, Michael Chambers; granddaughter, Melanie Chambers; father, Arri Chambers; mother, Willie Gladys Chambers; and sister, Naomi Ander- son. Survivors include beloved wee of 58 years, Mary Nell Smith Chambers of Lockhart; sons, Ricky Chambers and wife, Loria, of Florala, and Re- nee Chambers and wife, Lusean, of Lockhart; brother, Glen Chambers of Florala; sister, Margie Watson of Pensacola, FL; 4 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. LENA SCARBROUGH October 12, 1978 - November 2, 2015 Lena Scarbrough, age 37, of Flo- rala, passed away November 2, 2015. She was born Oc- tober 12, 1978 in Opp, AL. Lena was a cheer- leader and 1998 grad- uate of Flo- rala High School. In her spare time she loved to play bingo. Nothing was more important to Lena than family. She cherished the times she had with husband, Eric, and most especially daughter, Haley. She relished be- ing her MaMa. Lena's faith in Jesus Christ sustained her as she bravely fought cancer. She served as an in- spiration to all who knew her with her strength and courage. She fought the good fight. She finished the race. She kept the faith. She was preceded in death by grandfather, James Mar- lowe. Survivors include husband Eric Scarbrough of Florala; daughter, Ha- ley Scarbrough of Florala, mother and father, Leslie and Dean Kilpat- rick of Florala; grandmother, Mary Hazel Marlowe of Florala; brothers, Mickey and George Harrell; and ex- tended loved ones including numer- ous uncles, aunts, nieces and neph- ews. JEWEL BAKER June 26, ]928 - November 1, 2015 Jewel Baker, age 87, of Florala, passed away November 1, 2015. She was born June 26, 1928 in Svea, FL, to Wil- liam Henry Creech and Exie Ad- ams Creech. Jewel was a loving wife, mother, grandmoth- er and great- grandmoth- er. She love to sew and make clothes for her children. Jewel enjoyed cook- ing (everyone looked forward to her famous pancakes), planting flowers around her home, working outside and decorating for Christmas. Her biggest legacy, however is the un- conditional love she had for her fam- ily. Known to them as Jewel, Mama, Granny Jewel, "Jew Jew" and "Bub- ble", she will forever hold a dear and precious place in each of their hearts. She was preceded in death by hus- bands, William Albert Posey and Clarence "Pete" Baker; great-grand- son, Luke Weens; father, William Henry Creech; mother, Exie Adams Creech; brothers, William Junior Creech, Donald Eugene Creech, and Bud Creech.
